Registered Nurse Midwife RNM2

Location: Westmoreland Health Department

The Western Regional Health Authority (a Statutory Body under the Ministry of Health) is currently seeking to employ Registered Nurse Midwives throughout the region. Reporting to the Public Health Nurse Level 4, the incumbent will be responsible for executing the below core functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science/Diploma in Nursing from an accredited institution
• Certificate in Midwifery from an accredited institution
• Current registration with the Nursing Council of Jamaica

Core functions

• Conducting Antenatal, Child Health, Family Planning and Medical Clinics.
• Assisting with postnatal clinics.
• Collaborating with and making recommendations to relevant personnel and facilities regarding continuing care for clients.
• Conducting home visits as required.
• Collecting specimen for lab tests.
• Monitoring and requesting supplies needed for client care.

• Strong observational skills.
• Excellent bedside skills.
